JACKSONVILLE, Fla., March 27, 2018 – Coastal Spine and Pain Center announces a new orthopaedic specialist William E. Neway III, D.O. to serve their Orange Park and Riverside locations. As an experienced and highly skilled orthopaedic spine surgeon Dr. Neway will offer patients of Coastal Spine and Pain Center accurate and informed assessments and precise surgery.
Prior to joining Coastal Spine and Pain Center, Dr. Neway was a staff chemist in the medicinal chemistry of Merck Research labs. Recently he has served as assistant professor in the Division of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Alabama at the Birmingham School of Medicine in Birmingham, Ala.
Dr. Neway earned his doctorate degree in Medicine from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, Pa. He completed a traditional rotating internship at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Stratford, N.J. His orthopaedic residency was at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey he was also with the Jack Hughston Memorial Orthopaedic Residency in Orange Park Medical Center, in Jacksonville, Fla. Dr. Neway completed a combined Orthopaedic and Neurosurgery Spine Fellowship at the Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Conn.
He has published extensively on orthopaedic issues regarding diagnosis, surgical intervention, and post-operative care. Dr. Neway has won awards including the Fellow of the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopaedics in 2017 and the Attending of the Year, from UAB Orthopaedics, in 2015.
“Dr. William Neway’s complex understanding and extensive experience in orthopaedic surgery and care will provide in-depth understanding and skilled care to patients who are experiencing pain issues,” said Coastal Spine and Pain Physician Dr. Kenny Powell.
Dr. Neway is a member of a number of medical associations, including the American Osteopathic Association, the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics and the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
He is part of AO Spine DenGen PRO training and enrollment and enjoys conducting courses and meetings, doing presentations and creating publications for the medical community.
