Dr. Muenz is board certified and fellowship-trained with the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the American Board of Addiction Medicine and the American Board of Family Practice. He received his medical degree from the University of Louisville, School of Medicine and completed his residency as chief resident at the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga Unit of College of Medicine. Dr. Muenz is affiliated with the American Society of Addiction Medicine, the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the American Academy of Family Practice.
He enjoys cooking, gardening, reading, travel and shell collecting and is committed to service and contribution to his community.
Rachael Sanchez is a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine who is board certified with the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians. In 2008, she earned her Doctor of Osteopathy from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Bradenton, Florida and completed her transitional internship at the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, Virginia the following year. Dr. Sanchez’s residency training in family practice was at St. Petersburg General Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida and her fellowship training was in addiction medicine at the University of Florida. She is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, American College of Family Practitioners, American Society of Addiction Medicine, Florida Osteopathic Medical Association and American College of Physicians. Sharing her knowledge and experience in medical training, Dr. Sanchez has given numerous presentations on seizures, EKGs for nursing, as well as a series on diabetic education. She has also volunteered at Virginia Bay Pines, where she participated in patient care under the auspices of the Director of the Hospice Unit.

Prior to working with Coastal Spine and Pain Center, Jean-Louis worked as a PA for The Institute of Pain Management and North Florida Pain Center, both located in Jacksonville. As a physician assistant, Jean-Louis has experience in working with patients and helping to diagnose and treat different symptoms, as well as assist in procedures to help alleviate any pain a patient may be experiencing.

He has extensive experience in emergency medicine, most recently serving locally as an emergency room physician assistant at St. Vincent’s Medical Center, Orange Park and Memorial Hospitals. Before moving to Jacksonville, Wurtz was a research coordinator at Johns Hopkins Department of Emergency Medicine. He also served in the US Army 34th Medical Battalion in Ft. Benning, Ga. with the UH-60 Helicopter Med-Evac Unit Crew. He’s received an Army Humanitarian Service Medal, an Army Achievement Medal, is an Army Distinguished Honor Graduate, and served as a crew member for Vice-President Dan Quayle. Wurtz also is certified in: basic life support and first aid, advanced cardiac life support, pediatric advanced life support, combat life support and water safety. Wurtz holds a private pilot’s license and is a graduate of the US Army’s Airborne School and Air Assault training. Wurtz currently volunteers at the Master Mason FA&M Mandarin Lodge 343.
