Scott Kowalski is a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine who is board certified with the American Board of Physical Medicine Rehabilitation with a Pain Management Subspecialty. In 2004, he earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Michigan State College of Osteopathic Medicine in East Lansing, Michigan and completed his Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency in 2011 and Accredited Interventional Pain Management Fellowship at Detroit Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan in 2012.
Prior to joining Coastal Spine and Pain Center, he served as a fellowship trained pain management and rehabilitation physician in Port Huron, Michigan where he performed interventional pain procedures including cervical, thoracic and lumbar regions. He also conducted inpatient rehabilitation management of post stroke, traumatic brain injury, multi-trauma, orthopedic and debility patients. In the office Dr. Kowalski is well versed and skilled in performing EMG’s and evaluating patients with challenging pain conditions.
Dr. Kowalski is a member of the Michigan Osteopathic Association, American Osteopathic Medical Association, American Academy of Pain Medicine and the North American Neuromodulation Society. Utilizing his rich knowledge and experience in pain management, Dr. Kowalski has given numerous case and clinical presentations to medical societies and hospitals over the years. He was also the recipient of the 2009 Wayne State-DMC Outstanding Achievement Award in Functional Gross Anatomy.
